About
THROWER: The New Heavy
Thrower is a Houston-based modern grunge band with a new powerful blend of grunge, hard rock, and metal. Born in 2023, Thrower embodies "The New Heavy", a bold fusion of classic influences and modern innovation. Dive in to discover the band's story, music, and more.
The Thrower Band Story
Thrower began as a spark between old friends Isaac Thrower (vocals) and Cole Stratulate (guitar), who reconnected after years apart. Both had played together in a high school band and, in 2023, found themselves drawn back to music. Teaming up with August Galliano (guitar), Rocky Conant (drums), and Clay Didway (bass), they formed Thrower in Houston, TX.

With members hailing from Houston, College Station, and Baton Rouge, Thrower’s diverse backgrounds bring a gritty and thrilling energy to their sound. Influenced by the legends of grunge and heavy rock like Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Pantera, and Black Sabbath, the music channels the raw soul of the '90s and '70s while embracing a fresh, contemporary edge. A new heavy band inspired by the '90s throwing gritty rock with a modern edge.
Thrower's Debut Album: "Blink"

The New Heavy Rock Band's debut album, Blink, dropped April 20th 2024, is a 12-track work that captures the heart and soul of Thrower. Showing where they could go and what they are. Starting with the electrifying "Reach" and closing with the haunting "Overgrown," Blink merges gritty riffs with introspective lyrics, offering a modern take on the essence of classic, alternative, and grunge rock.

Its bold, surreal design reflects the emotional depth and edge of Blink aligning with the theme of the Human Condition prevalent throughout the Album.
